For the past month I’ve been looking like I was part of the zombie cast of The Walking Dead. I’ve been feeling sick for quite some time now, and this has taken up a lot of energy. Because I didn’t seem to get better I started taking antibiotics this week. Last night was the first night in a long time that I wasn’t woken up by coughing. I’m not completely healthy yet, but it is going in the right direction (I hope!). Another bad thing is that I have encountered more laptop problems. The total reparation cost is over 300 euros. 😦

However there are also a lot of positive things, my sister Patricia came to visit me the last two weeks and we had a great time. It was so nice to see her again! We went to the pool, The Laundromat Cafe, Kolaportið, Babalú, Gló, Tíu Dropar and Graenn Kostur. Because I had to work on some days, Patricia’s also been on some wonderful trips by herself (with couchsurfers). We could go on one bigger trip though, we travelled by bus to Akureyri and we stayed in a hostel for two nights. It was nice to go out of the city and have a good look at beautiful Iceland. It is truly a stunning country, the views and the nature are indescribable. Because of my sickness we couldn’t do a lot, which is a pity, but still it was nice to be back in Akureyri. Next to the spectacular fjord and mountains I especially like the Bláa Kannan Café. The building is very pretty, they serve good coffee and even had vegan cake. Yesterday Patricia took an early flight (we woke up at 4.00) back to the Netherlands. It was superb to have her around and I’m already looking forward to July, when she comes back to the island. 😛

Yesterday the weather was great. A clear blue sky and no wind. I went up the tower of Hallgrímskirkja and took some pictures of Reykjavík:

How is everybody in the Netherlands doing? 🙂
